The Jill Owen Duo is the combined music skills of Jill and Todd with a distinguished spin on classic songs of the past and today's popular music.  An enjoyable vibe fills each room we play or the outdoor patios!
With a repertoire that covers many genres including Country, Adult Alternative, Pop Rock, and Rhythm and Blues, our audiences have said it is a playlist of fun, memorable times.  See the extensive list of artists we cover below.

From Kentucky to Colorado to Illinois, by a Senior in high school, Jill was widely versed in multiple lifestyles and trends at a young age - one of which being music.  Coming from a very musically inclined family, with her mom playing the piano and organ, and her father and sister sharing Jill's talent in singing, she was always surrounded by music causing her interest in performance to be undeniable.  At a young age she joined school choirs and still sings in worship bands for church.  Everything from public speaking to acting, Jill enjoys all performing arts, however music is different for her as she says "music stirs up feelings", and as the Duo plays music through the years music "brings up memories too".  Despite her talented voice, she aspires to learn how to play more instruments and knows she has Todd as a talented teacher.  Alongside, her interests follow in song writing as well, as she loves entertaining and "enjoys watching people's eyes light up when they hear a song they know and start to sing along".

Todd has been a professional guitar player and vocalist since the late 80's including bands that were the opening act for Chuck Berry, and The Kingsmen (the "Louie Louie" guys).  His parents started him on lessons at Simon's Music in downtown Moline IL (teacher: local virtuoso Mike Wallace) and his first gig (probably before lessons) was playing "Little Drummer Boy" for the Kindergarten Christmas Program and the teacher simply tuned the low string of the guitar to drone on a suitable note, haha.  He progressed through Classical and Folk music in elementary school, jazz and Big Band music in Jr. High, Musicals and more jazz in High School.  Musically educated at Western Illinois University led to meeting some great musicians and vocalists there and the start of decades of performing.
